NAUTI THOUGHTS: Must Have Beauty Products
H A P P Y W E L L N E S S W E D N E S D A Y
If you are anything like me, walking into the beauty section at any convince store can be dangerous. Looking around at all the different products and reading all the benefits that this "special creme" can do for your skin can be extremely tempting... and expensive. Below is a list of some must-have beauty products that you shouldn't feel bad about snagging off the shelf. You can get everyday use out of all of the items and they won't empty your bank account either.
1. BLOT SHEETS
You put on a fresh face of makeup for a night out, and by the time you get to your venue and start taking pictures, the flash is practically bouncing back off your forehead. Yep, we've all been there. By simply using a blotting sheet, you will be able to shine in your pictures, the right way. Blot sheets are super cheap coming in at $5 and can be found at any local convince store. They come in a pack of about 70 and are super easy to store in your purse. If you are in a crunch and forget your sheets, don't fret! A toilet seat cover can save you in a pinch.
2. DRY SHAMPOO
This one goes out to all my girls who understand the struggle of oily hair. If you are constantly feeling like your hair has a little bit too much shine or you just didn't have enough time to shower, dry shampoo is a lifesaver. I have gone through many different types of dry shampoo brands ranging from the high-end brands and all the way to the cheapest thing I could find. The best product that I have found that consistently works for my hair is Batiste. This can be found at your local Target or CVS and will only cost you about $6. What I like most about this brand is it comes in a variety of different scents so you can pick which one best suits you and spray away!
3. WHITENING STRIPS
Caution: purchasing this product may result in a significant withdrawal from your bank account. But don't worry it is 100% worth it! I will have to admit that totally thought that whitening strips were a waste of money and a myth. That was all until I started using Crest 3D White Strips. Although there was not a difference right away, the more consistently I used them, the whiter I noticed my teeth were getting. The strips will cost you about $35-45 depending on the strength you decide to get but the results are amazing. When your teeth are whiter you get more confident about them which will make you smile more and who doesn't want that:) Given that this product is more on the pricey side, save up and buy them for a big event! Make sure to start using them about a month in advance for optimal whiteness.
4. FACE WIPES
Wow, I cannot count the number of times that these wipes have saved my skin. After a long night out, the last thing you want to do is wash off all your make up. This is where face wipes will become your best friend. Although these should not be used instead of make up removing and face wash on a regular basis, by using a face wipe to take off your make up instead of just sleeping with it on can help save your skin from a major breakout. Face wipes can literally be found anywhere and are only about $5-10. Make sure you buy wipes that are right for your skin and won't cause any irritation.
5. LIP EXFOLIATOR
Out of all of the parts that we get told to exfoliate, our lips seem to be left out of the conversation. Our lips crack extremely easily due to the fact that the layer of skin on them is so much thinner than the skin that we have on the rest of our bodies. Chapstick seems to dry out my lips when I use it on its own so I also pair it with an exfoliator for the smoothest possible lip. If you go into places like LUSH or Sephora, you will likely spend upwards of $15 on an exfoliant for your lips. This just seemed ridiculous to me so I did some research and now the only product that I use is the Elf Lip Exfoliator. It can be found anywhere Elf products are sold and only costs $3! Another product I have found that also works well is Burt's Bees Lip Exfoliator. This one is a little more pricey at $9 but also doubles as a chapstick.
These are just some of many products that you will be able to every day. Some others that you might also want to try are: anti-frizz sheets, face masks, and sunscreen. Now that you have so more knowledge on brands that work and prices that fit your budget, hopefully, the cosmetic section won't feel as daunting and overwhelming.
