Happy Confidence Week everyone. This week Kappa Delta promoting confidence around campus and to the people we love. Spreading confidence is easy. To look at someone else and find something that inspires you about them isn't hard. This is because each person on this earth is beautiful and unique in their own special way, so it is easy to spot these qualities in someone else. It is looking in the mirror and finding reasons to love yourself that is the more difficult challenge.

We live in a society where media dictates everything. It tells us what to wear, what our bodies should look like, and what we should and shouldn't eat. This can be extremely overwhelming and quite frankly, hinders self confidence in most powerful way. But it doesn't have to be this way! There are ways for you to become more self confident that you can practice each and every day so you too can see your true inner beauty.

FACE YOUR FEARS
This might sound cliche, but if you do one thing each day that scares you, even just a little bit, you will notice your self confidence start to sky rocket, even if it is something little. Maybe you've always been scared to wear a certain shirt because you are worried about what people will think of you. Next time you go to get dressed, grab that shirt and put it on because no matter what anyone else thinks of you, self confidence is the best outfit that you can wear.

SURROUND YOUR SELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
This point is extremely important. Although self confidence comes from within, it is nearly impossible to achieve without a strong support system. Make sure you find a group of people who are there for you and don't try to change you into anyone that you are not. Everyone has there own special qualities that make them unique so make sure the people you are surrounding yourself with accentuate these traits instead of make you cover them up.

FAILURE IS NORMAL
To fail at something doesn't mean you are a failure, it just means things didn't quite go your way. It sucks to be rejected and no one likes it, no matter what the circumstance. As humans we don't like to be wrong and we want everything to go as planned in our heads, but sadly this is unrealistic. Life throws curve balls at us all the time. And at the moment, you may not understand why this is happening to you but don't ever believe, even for a second, that it is your fault. As the old saying goes, "everything happens for a reason" so make sure you are confident in every situation you put yourself in, even if you don't succeed the first time around.

These are just a few ways that you can go about practicing building your self confidence. Even on your worst day it is always important to remember that you were put in this world for a reason and you are loved by so many people. Each day strive to love yourself just a little bit more because the world would not be the same without each and every one of you.
