Nauti Warrior: Anthea
Welcome back babes!
This week I have created this post to be all about our very own KD volleyball star, Anthea Frasier.
Background on Anthea:
Anthea is a second year Kinesiology pre-physical therapy student. She is from Portland Oregon. I asked if the people there are weird because that's just what I've heard but she said "No, they're just really nice and all liberals".
Fitness:
Anthea's favorite way to exercise is by playing volleyball. She has played for 12 years and plays on the SDSU club team when she is not concussed. I thought it would be cool to interview her because I just don't understand how she could play club volleyball with her major (which is also mine and it is very time consuming) so props to you girl. She says it is all about managing your time, which makes sense. She wakes up early, goes to class, and last year went to practice Tuesday-Thursday, workouts on Wednesday, and traveled over the weekend. Luckily, she loves it. She says she enjoyed traveling over the weekends a lot but it can easily leave you with no time for homework, so go to class and stay on top of everything and it is doable.

I asked Anthea what wellness meant to her and she believes it means "being happy, not too stressed, and physically fit". This is pretty broad but I do agree that this is a good goal to strive for. Not being too stressed and being fit often times has a huge impact on our happiness. It is a huge relief when you can stay on top of your school work by regularly going to class and planning out when to finish homework on time. It is also a nice break by going to the gym, for a run, to a group class, or playing an intramural sport (play soccer please lol). There are many things that contribute to happiness obviously but these are 2 aspects that we can easily strive to work on.
Health:
Sadly, a lot of us deal with illnesses and injuries throughout the school year that can affect our grades, social life, and general wellbeing. I asked Anthea how she stays healthy and she told me about a bad concussion she got last year while playing volleyball. She believes it is very important to take care of yourself all the time and right away. A lot of times we don't want to stay in and miss out but it is important to take care of ourselves to make sure the sickness or injury does not linger longer than it needs to. She also said a big part of staying healthy is eating well, drinking wayyyy to much water, and getting good rest.
I think these are all good tips to apply to our own lives and stay healthy and well as we start this school year.
