Welcome to a new semester of Health & Wellness!
Happy Spring Semester everyone! We hope everyone is ready to jump into the New Year and tackle those New Year's resolutions. First things first, we would like to point out that neither of us are nutrition majors or anything related to health and wellness- we both have a passion for living well and wanted to use this as an outlet to share that with you. Anyone can adopt a healthier lifestyle and share their tips and tricks, and our posts are meant to encourage you all to take steps to living your best life. One of the best things about health and fitness is that everyone has their own goals and different ways of reaching them, and at the end of the day everyone is here to help you be the best version of yourself :) Hopefully our posts are something you can look forward to and can become a part of your Wednesday routine!
Here is a little bit about us!

Hey everyone!! I am so excited to be able to write here about all things health and wellness. I grew up a dancer, so I was surrounded by people who were constantly training and challenging me to be stronger. I also had very active parents who set it up in my mind from a very young age that being healthy was a normal thing. I’ve always been aware of what I was putting in my body and how it would affect me throughout the day. Ever since high school I have researched foods and ingredients with health benefits and how I could incorporate them into my day to day to make me feel good. Coming to college my health habits definitely changed. I quit dancing so adjusting to the gym was a struggle, as it is for most freshman since our gym is heavily dominated by fraternal men. I felt kind of lost because I didn't have any outlet to go to and get my mind off things. Getting up in the morning and motivating myself to be active took some time, but luckily I had friends who had fitness goals of their own so we pushed each other. Fast-forward to now I am finally in a place where working out is a part of my daily routine and has truly shaped me into the person I am - broken foot and all :’) I finally have my outlet to just focus on myself and free my mind of any stress I may have. I hope to incorporate my love for fitness and health into my career path and allow it to help me make decisions that are the best for me. Hopefully with this blog we can share some fun tips with you and inspire you to make the steps to any health related goals you may have!

Hi there! I am so excited to be one your Health & Wellness chairs this semester. This is definitely an area of personal interest for me and something I am really passionate about. Incorporating self-care time into my daily routine in college has always been a priority for me and I really think it is what keeps me going. I thrive when I have a lot going on but I couldn't pull it off without taking a pause every day to do something that benefits my well-being. My little moment of ~zen time~ before bed is probably my favorite time of day; I even brought my essential oil diffuser home with me for winter break. In terms of fitness, my interest stems from dancing over the years growing up. Dancing always took the “chore” aspect out of physical activity for me, which is what I have sought out of fitness outlets in college. I love cycling classes, yoga and barre. I really need to have a fun workout with good music to motivate me. Some of my favorite studios in San Diego are SoulCycle, Sparkcycle, Corepower & PureBarre. Additionally, I am excited to do some research on nutrition and find some healthy recipes for you all- I have a relentless sweet tooth and constantly try to keep a balanced diet, but it is definitely an area I can improve in. Look out for lots of healthy dessert recipes from me hehe.
This semester we will be publishing weekly Wellness Wednesday posts on Nauti Body! We have a wide variety of ideas we are super excited about but please let us know if there are any specific content areas you’d like us to cover. We want to make this blog as helpful and fun as it can be. Additionally, we are going to have two optional health & wellness events per month. One will be an ARC class and the other will be at an outside studio or something else different. If you have any connections at fitness studios please reach out to us ;) We really hope you all come to as many as you can and we will do our best to find various convenient and unique opportunities. Our first ARC event will be Power Yoga, February 4th at 7:30pm/walking from the house at 7pm. Hope to see you all there!
