The Journey Towards Confidence
I would be lying if I wrote about how I have been able to transform my mindset into being 100% confident in myself. Instead, I want to share how it isn't always going to be easy, and that no matter how easy some people make it look everyone has their own journey towards living free of self-doubt. I know I am not alone when my head fills with doubt; asking myself internally “am i skinny enough” or “am i outgoing enough” or “does my outfit look weird.” Some days I dwell on these questions and I am able to share this to you all without feeling embarrassed or ashamed because I know I am not alone! In fact, I think knowing I am not alone makes me even that more confident. This is because those I surround myself with are on this journey with me, and will always be there to lift me back up.
This being said, I would also be lying if I said I wasn't a different person than I was coming into college. My confidence levels and ability to feel comfortable in my own skin have never been better, but they still aren’t perfect and that's okay. It is so easy to over analyze yourself and pick apart certain things, but we need to remember that these feelings are temporary. This week serves as a reminder to love the parts of ourselves we sometimes take for granted. Take this time to build up yourself, but also build up those around you!
We aren't on this journey alone! So, let's help each other fall in love with our imperfections and build each other up like I know we can. The women in our chapter are like no other, working together to build up one another and those around us. In our society, this isn’t always easy to find. So if anything, take this week to appreciate one another and our collective dedication towards instilling confidence the best we can.
Confidence is something I know we all have. It is something we encourage everyone to find. It can be found in small successes or bigger ones, but isn’t something that is gained overnight. Day by day we become stronger and find little things about ourselves we want to celebrate rather than try to erase! For this week, and for every week after that remember to Go Confidently <3
