Struggling with Food Guilt on Halloween
Struggling with the guilt of eating around the holidays is unfortunately a reality for so many. There can be a lot of pressures around this time, and I wanted to share some of my personal tips for eating cleaner around the holidays!
Drink a lot of water. Staying hydrated is going to make you feel better altogether, especially if you are drinking any "beverages" or something sugary during festivities.
Make healthy Halloween alternatives! So what if you’re THAT person who healthifies everything. If it makes you happy, if it keeps you from binging, and if it helps educate other people on how to cook creatively, then do it!
Be Kind to yourself. You are a Bad Bleep and you deserve to eat at least three meals a day!
Lastly, I wanted to share one of my favorite VEGAN sweet Halloween treats with you all!
Spooky Vegan Bounty Bar recipe.
- 7oz desiccated coconut flour
- 10oz coconut milk
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 cup 70% dark chocolate
- 1 tbsp melted dark chocolate to decorate
- Start by putting coconut flour, coconut milk and maple syrup in your food processor and whizz until combined.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave, and cover a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Then spread a thick layer of chocolate over the base of the small baking sheet.
- Now, gently pour the coconut mixture over the chocolate, making sure you get a compact and high coconut layer. With the help of a ghost cookie cutter, carefully cut into bars. This step is best done whilst the mixture is still soft and chocolate is not hard yet. You don't have to lift the bars, simply divide the mixture, so it will be easier to cut later on. Transfer the tray into the fridge, and refrigerate for about ½ hour.
- Transfer the bars onto a serving tray and use any remaining melted chocolate to draw the eyes and mouth of these little cuties, and serve!
